Field Trip to Witty International School Pawan Baug Sr.KG Section WIS, MALAD (2015-16)

                            Field Trip to Witty International School Pawan Baug

One of the biggest challenges faced by children throughout their academic career is the shift from Sr. KG to Grade 1. From the cozy environment of the pre-primary class to the more formal learning environment of a Grade 1 classroom, is a transition that many children find quite stressful.  In an effort to bridge this gap and make the transition as smooth as possible, we at Witty Kids had organized a "KNOW YOUR SCHOOL" field trip for the Sr. KG students to Witty International School Pawan Baug, on 30th and 31st March 2016.
This field trip not only familiarized them with the layout of their new school, but also gave them the opportunity to interact with the faculty.
It was indeed a memorable experience for the little ones!!

Poem Enactment ( One Two Buckle my Shoe ) by Nursery Section at Witty World, BN

One, two,
Buckle my shoe;
Three, four,
Shut the door;
Five, six,
Pick up the sticks;
Seven, eight,
Lay them straight:
Nine, ten,
A big, fat hen.

Hearing and joining in with familiar songs, rhymes and jingles can be a fun activity which helps children to tune into the rhythms and sounds of a language and hear its distinctive tune. Awareness of rhymes in young children has also been linked to progress in reading later on. Keeping this in mind Rhyme Enactment of the month 'One, two, Buckle my shoe' was held in Nursery section at Witty World  on Wednesday, 30 March 2016. All the children participated in this enactment, some being numbers and some being the objects. They were really excited to recreate this familiar  rhyme, and enjoyed playing their parts in this little musical drama.

Adventure Camp

“Only he who can see the invisible can do the impossible.”
Outdoor sports not only give us an opportunity to break away from the stress of everyday life, but it also offers many health, mind and social benefits.
WIS organised an adventure camp, in which students along with their parents and teachers had a fun filled & courageous experience. The exhilaration of Rope Climbing, Rock Climbing, Flying Fox, Spider’s Web, Burma Bridge , Zorbing Ball etc not only developed confidence, physical health but mental health also.

The lasting positive influence from our adventure camp will empower the students to confront and overcome future challenges. Most importantly, these adventures are designed to expand young minds horizons with non- competitive, small group environment in which each member is valued and is an important part of the group. !

Holi Celebration by Pre-Primary Section WIS, MALAD (2015-16)

                                                  Holi Celebration

Holi is the festival of colours and sweets. It brings along with itself the shades of joy, brotherhood, enjoyment and optimism.
Holi is celebrated in March, every year. Although it is a Hindu festival, it is celebrated by everyone. To celebrate the victory of good over evil, bonfires are lit on the first day of the festival and a dummy of Holika is burnt.
This year the Pre Primary section at Witty Kids celebrated ‘Eco - friendly Holi’ on Wednesday, 23 March 2016. Children brought shredded colourful papers to play Holi with their friends with the motive of Saving Water. The concept of safe Holi was also presented to the children. It was indeed a “learn with fun” day for everyone and a very joyful experience for the children.

Holi Celebration at Witty World, BN by Sr. KG Section A & B [ 2015-16 ]

“Holi hai holi hai
Chhaya har jagah hai rang rang
Aao milkar khele holi
Hum sab bachhe sang sang
Holi hai haan holi hai”

The festival of Holi, typically marks the end of winter and the arrival of spring. People in different parts of the country celebrate Holi by splashing coloured water over each other, signifying the bright profusion of summer colours in nature.

However, keeping in mind the current scenario in our drought afflicted water starved nation, Witty World celebrated Holi in a unique yet colourful manner, without wasting a drop of water!! Instead of the typical pichkaris and water guns, children came equipped with colourful shreds of waste paper. They had a great time showering   each other with coloured paper while at the same time chanting HOLI HAIN!!

Sensitising such young minds to environmental issues, and helping them create alternative eco-friendly solutions, goes a long way in creating productive global citizens of the future!!!
