Ganesh Chaturthi
Ganesh Chaturthi is the
Hindu festival celebrated on the birthday of the Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord
Shiva and Parvati.
Ganesha is widely
worshipped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and Good fortune and traditionally
invoked at the beginning of any new venture or at the start of travelling.
On 17th September, 2013 WIS
celebrated the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi with lots of fun and fair. This
festival is celebrated all over India, it is most elaborate in Maharashtra. The
festival lasts for 10 days, ending on Anant Chaturdashi.
The festival was celebrated
by showing a skit to the children performed by the Teacher's. Children enjoyed
the skit and coloured an art sheet depicting Lord Ganesha.
