Wittians celebrated Lohri at WIS, Udaipur

Today, on fine sunny morning, Witty family celebrated Lohri, a sweet and important festival of Punjab. The other popular name of Lohri is Makar Sakranti. In Punjab, on the first harvest, people offer grains in fire. Some offer rice preparation known as pongal to Sun God, and distribute the remanants or Prasada to everyone.  People also give charity on this day.
Teachers and students of WIS arranged a Bon fire while the students sang and danced beautifully. Students of Sixth Grade gave speeches both in Hindi and English which revealed the importance of this festival. To conclude this festival Lohri, traditional prasada of revri and popcorns were distributed to everyone present. Happy Lohri!!
