A poetry
reading is a public oral recitation or performance. Poetry just like music, is
about the sound it is meant to be read aloud in most cases to really appreciate
the literary value. When a poem is recited aloud, it allows the reader to hear
the use of rhyme, rhythm and alliteration creation better than simply reading
the poem .Today students of Grade I and II participated in the English
Recitation competition to improve the ability of speaking
with expressions. The topics were based on health, books, colours etc. By
reciting poetry, students developed more confidence. The competition was held
to enhance oratory skills of the students. All the participants participated
enthusiastically and they showed that poetry is an art.
