0n 19 july 2014 ,Witty World hosted” SENSETUTION” an edutainment
event that focussed on providing fun, sensory experiences to children. Sensory play is simply play that encourages children
to use one or more of the senses. Sensory
play experiences focus on stimulating children’s senses of sight, sound, smell,
touch, taste, balance, and movement. The fact is, our little ones spend
much less time outdoors than their parents and certainly grandparents did as
children. Since the outdoors is naturally full of sensory play
opportunities, this has definitely had a part in the decline of sensory play.
Secondly, although children can definitely fulfil their need for sensory
play indoors, the truth is that indoor
time is often monopolized by television and, battery operated toys. Young children rely
on sensory input to learn about their environment, and sensorial experiences helps build neural connections
that support thought, learning, and creativity.

At Witty World children were provided with ample opportunity to
touch ,feel, taste, hear,and smell
through various attractive displays and games. The icing on the
proverbial cake was the screening of a shortened version of the animated movie
Rattatouille, and of course the smell of freshly made popcorn that permeated
the air in the auditorium.

The children definitely had a “sensational” experience!!!
