26 August is the day when US president declared equal voting
rights to women. The day is observed as Women’s Equality Day. 26 August is also
the day when the great saint of Indian street popularly known as ‘Saint of the
Gutters’ –Mother Teresa was born. To commemorate with these WIS Bhilwara
celebrated Mother Teresa’s B Day and Women’s Equality Day.
This special assembly was presented by the students of Grade VI
& VII. Students presented a TV show “BEING
WOMEN …WE CAN.” Keshav Kabra and Harshit Sharma of Grade VII were hosts of the
show. Boys presented a poem on LIFE written by Mother Teresa. To depict the
Nari Shakti girls sang a melodious and energetic song KOMAL HAI KAMZOR NAHIN TU…….
There was a special telecast of live interview of Jhanavi Bohra as
Mother Teresa . She wished and blessed
all the Wittians. The special attraction was the presence of students as Mrs
Chanda Kochar, Mrs Anandi Ben Patel, Mrs Indira Gandhi, Ms Kalpana Chawla, Mrs
Pratibha Patil, Ms Kiran Bedi, Mrs P. T. Usha and the queen of Jhansi Laxmi
Bai. Students depicted the power of women in true sense.
