Most kids look forward to
field trips as a change from the day-to-day class work that usually happens at
school. Visiting a Police Station can be an enriching experience for a child
and reinforce the topics they have learned at school.
Senior
KG students of Witty International School and Witty World were taken on a field
trip to the Malad Police station on Wednesday, 17 September 2014.
On
reaching the police station, children and the police staff exchanged wishes
with each other. A very friendly officer in
uniform walked the kids through a safety guide and they also explained about
what happens when they dial 100 0r 103 in an emergency. Children
got a hands on feel of the various weapons that an officer uses such as a
pistol, a revolver, bullets along with a magazine and hand-cuffs. The police
inspector also explained as to when and how they use these arms. Children were
also shown an empty cell (jail).
Later
when children moved out they saw a police vehicle, they were explained its
features such as siren and wire-less radio communication systems.
Children were very happy and thanked the Police Inspector.
