Tongue twisters are series of words or lighthearted
phrases that seem simple enough - that is until you say them. The combination
of the words and repetition of sounds make it nearly impossible to properly
pronounce the entire phrase, especially when you repeat it over and over very
quickly.
In honor of International Tongue Twister Day, students
of Grade VII conducted a ‘Tongue Twister contest’ in the assembly. It was an
attempt to create awareness among students regarding the importance of Tongue
Twisters. They are not just means of amusement but are excellent sources of
speech therapy. One who masters Tongue Twisters can be a better spokesperson.
It helps one to speak fluently at a fast pace and also helps in building confidence. Students of Grade I to VI as well as teachers
actively took part in this entertaining contest.
