Witty International School, Pawan Baug celebrated India's 66th Republic Day in all its solemnity and grandeur. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. To mark the importance of this day, a grand celebration was held in the school, and many activities were planned in the school premises. The school Head Boy and Head Girl welcomed the Chief Guest Wing Commander S.R. Tripathy and his assistant with the traditional Tika and Aarti. The school echoed with patriotic fervour as the Tricolour was unfurled by the Guest of Honour Wg. Cdr. S.R. Tripathy while our Principal Mr. Bijo Kurian, all the Staff members and students paid their respect by saluting the flag. National Anthem was sung with pride, a true moment of delight and honour. The patriotic zeal was carried forward by our students when they embarked on March Past with their head held high showcasing the love for the Tricolour. The Guest of Honour Wg. Cdr. S.R. Tripathy took the salute. Students showcased their creative and physical prowess by the formation of the Pyramid.

The school auditorium reverberated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. Darshi Sanghvi, the School Head Girl welcomed the Guests. Her inspiring words ignited every heart present there with fire of Patriotism. A ‘Welcome Dance’ beautifully portrayed the Tricolour. A beautiful rendition of a medley of ‘Patriotic songs’ sung by Meghna Mishra and Mahima Nelson followed the dance. A smile could be seen on everybody’s face when the songs were being sung.
After the medley we had our Principal welcoming the Guest of Honour and felicitating him. The Guest of Honour was pleased with the fervor of Patriotism layered in the school among the students. His powerful words motivated everybody to get into defence for the love of the country, his thought of Dream Big motivated our students to Aim high. This was followed by a Skit in English which was based on our Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s  ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’. Serena Parve gave us an idea how we can make our country proud of us through her powerful words in Hindi. ‘Cultural Integration’ put forth the idea of Unity in Diversity in a stunning manner wherein students dressed up in variety of costumes of varied cultures and showcased their creative skills. A ‘Mime Act’ which brought forth the dilemma wherein our youth have lost the insight with which they can see the real lives of a soldier who gives up everything for his motherland. This act has tried to instill in our future makers of the country the love and respect they show towards Cricket can also be showered on our soldiers who selflessly strive to keep us safe.
Last but not the least a musical skit ‘Halla Bol’ was poignant enough to make us ponder that our freedom fighters lay their lives to attain the precious freedom for us which we all our mutilating and killing with our negative attitude and approach, but all is not lost we have our very own Mahatma Gandhi who has showed us the path towards integrity happiness and patriotism which we need to follow. The programmed ended with the vote of thanks given by the Head Boy of the school Ritik Mehta and the singing of the National Anthem. Students dispersed after snacks with the image of the Tricolour fluttering in their hearts.
