“Anyone who can only think of one
way to spell a word obviously lacks imagination.”
The more deeply and thoroughly a student knows a word, the more
likely he or she is to recognize it, spell it, define it, and use it
appropriately in speech and writing. The major goal of the English writing
system is not merely to ensure accurate pronunciation of the written word – it
is to convey meaning.
To enhance the reading and writing skills, Witty International
School, Bhilwara conducted Spell – O- Fun competition for Grade III to VIII.
Students learned many spellings as they know that spelling is important because it aids in
reading. Such competitions help to cement the connection between the
letters and their sounds, and learning high-frequency "sight words".Students actively participated in the competition.
