Janmashtmi Celebrated at WIS, Bhilwara (24.08.2016)

Logo Ki Raksha Karne,
Ek Ungli Par Pahaad Uthaya,
Usi Kanhaiyaa ki Yaad Dilane,
Janmashtmi Ka Pawan Din Aaya....
Janmashtmi was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm by the students of Witty International School, Bhilwara. On this holy occasion, students performed many activities to mark the birth of lord Krishna.
The pious day began with a speech, poem, bhajans and a play which were based on the story on birth of Lord Krishna. Students were told that incarnations of god appear for special reasons under special circumstances in order to re-establish righteousness and to restore peace.
An important feature of Janmashtami is Jhanki (tableau) and cribs depicting various stages of Lord Krishna's childhood. Jhanki means peeping in the past life, in relation with Janmashtami it means peeping into the life of Lord Krishna. To make the students aware with the life of lord Krishna, Janki competition was also conducted where students prepared colourful Jhankis to show Lord Krishna’s different roles of his life.

The teachers and students took the blessings of Sri Krishna by offering pooja and arti. Last but not the least was the much awaited event- “Dahi-Handi” competition as Lord Krishna and his poor cowherd friends loved milk. Curd and butter were kept in high hung pots on a lovely backdrop. A group of girls and boys were thrilled to break these pots on the feet tapping musical background. This competition was witnessed with the bated breath by everyone.
The festive attire and the energetic Janamastmi music swayed all of us into an environment which made us feel the presence of the Lord Almighty amidst us.  It was a memorable day for everyone.
Happy Janmashtmi
