Amongst all the performing arts, Music has always had a pride of place in our country. Witty International School, Pawan Baug embraces all the major strands of Indian and Western music and continues to feature a wide spectrum of artists - from upcoming to top-ranking living legends. This time Witty International School, Pawan Baug presented a live Violin Concerto for all the students featuring two Internationally acclaimed best violinists in India, Kushmita Biswakarma and Prayash Biswakarma.

Kushmita Biswakarma one of the best violinists in India having completed her Masters and Diploma in Music (Violin) from Prestigious Nuremburg Music University German has played concerts in Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. She has been a part of various orchestras such as Bavarian Orchestra Academy, Hofer Symphoniker and Symphony Orchestra of the Music University Nuremberg. Another talented Indian violinist, pianist and guitarist, Prayash Biswakarma has been a part of Indian National Youth Orchestra and Weltweit Klänge Orchestra Germany. The musical concert had a beautiful blend of Western and Indian music. Kushmita and Prayash dazzled the audience with a sparkling set of performances. The concert initiated with one of the most famous works by J. S. Bach, - Double Violin Concerto which was followed by "Csárdás"  a composition by Italian composer Vittorio Monti, well-known folkloric piece based on a Hungarian czardas.  Famous bollywood compositions like "Tum Hi Ho", Jai ho, Kal Ho Na Ho, and Samjhawan also left the audience completely mesmerized. In the slow movements the artists striked a fine balance between vernal innocence and sensuous yearning, drawing a wonderfully eloquent cantabile line and warming the pure, silvery tone with a discreet and subtle use of vibrato. "Méditation" a symphonic intermezzo from the opera Thaïs by French composer Jules Massene was also played. In the finale of this concerto, Ms. Kushmita Bishwakarma played “Summer” a piece that reflected the humidity and volatility of summer capturing the audience with music’s playfulness and moments of lyricism. Kushmita Biswakarma quoted, “Music is a kind of language.  It’s about communication; it’s about speaking, about telling stories, it’s entirely about conveying meaningful ideas and emotions through yourself.  I want an audience to really know who I am and what I think and feel through my music. It is important for students of today’s generation to be exposed to the greatest works of western classical music.”

The sheer talent of the performers blew the crowd away in a show that was packed full of diverse and exciting acts. The students were left spellbound with the mesmerising acts performed live in the school auditorium. 

The Principal, Mr Bijo Kurian, was truly delighted to be able to give the students an exposure to enjoy a diverse range of live music. He expressed his happiness, “The overall sound was rich and well balanced, and there was an infectious air of enthusiasm and commitment. All in all, a most impressive release. Music is a powerful tool for our personal expression within our daily lives. We are truly honoured and proud to be able to conduct a live musical concert for our young students. The performances have helped to integrate artistic disciplines with other curricular areas, thus creating an educational and interactive experience
