Festival of lights Deepavali celebrated at WIS,Bhilwara (21.10.16)

Deepavali is here, Deepavali is here
That grand festival of Lights
That ends evil after a protracted fight
When good with all its might
Leads us from darkness to Light.
Deepavali is here, Deepavali is here
That gorgeous festival of snacks and sweets
Where everyone enjoys a royal feast
When old and young with delight meet
With love and affection all hearts beat.
Diwali is the festival of lights which falls in the month of 'Ashwin' according to Hindu calendar. 'Deepawali' in Hindi means a row of diyas. Almost every house and street is decorated with lamps and lights on the day of Diwali. On the day of Diwali, Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya after exile of 14 years. People of Ayodhya welcomed him by lighting diyas. It gives a message of love, brotherhood and friendship. The heart of everyone should be illuminated with light.  Diwali is a festival which marks the victory of Rama over Ravana that is victory of good over evil.
This beautiful festival of Diwali was celebrated at WIS, Bhilwara on Friday, October 21,2016. The programme began with a wonderful prayer dance on the beats of “Deva O Maheshwarah” highlighting the message of Diwali and invoking God’s blessings. After that, students of Grade III recited a poem which emphasized on the values of Diwali. Grade VIII students created awareness among students by giving them ample of reasons of avoiding harmful crackers during the festival.  A wonderful Nritya Natika, depicting one event of Ramayan was presented by the students of Grade VIII, which kept everyone spell bound.  The best and most exciting part of Diwali celebration was the Visit of a potter in the school; he taught the students different clay items like diyas, pots, piggy banks etc. All the students were quiet excited to have their own handmade clay items.

At the end Ma’am Principal wished all the students and teachers a joyous Diwali. After the celebration the children went back to their classes and continued their joy in sharing the sweets with each other. Thus, everyone went home carrying the message of love, peace and joy of the festival.
