Basic Life Support Skills Workshop at Witty International School Pawan Baug (2017-18).

                                                        Basic Life Support Skills
Health is wealth. There is nothing in our life that is more valuable than good health. Without health there is no happiness, no peace and no success. Witty International School, Pawan Baug organised a Basic Life Support workshop by Dr. Chakradhar Rao  and his team keeping in mind the pressing need of emergency life saving skills for students of Grade VII.
A person with bad health cannot enjoy the pleasure of being wealthy. Health, hence, is more valuable than money. Money cannot buy health and happiness. But a healthy person remains in a state of bliss and happiness. And in today’s pressing times health should be our priority, we have to take care of ourselves only then will we be capable enough to help others when required, as we will be available to discharge the duties and or will be of quite a help at the time of a major requirement. Dr Chakradhar Rao and his team guided and lead our young students into the world of Basic life Support which would help in early recognition and calling for immediate help during medical emergencies.
Dr Chakradhar Rao delivered a lecture on methods that will help save the lives of people who are in need of urgent medical attention such as those lying unconscious and those who suffer from choking or burns. For example, if we come across someone lying unconscious on the road, we need to do first tap on his body to check his response. If there is no response, the body pulse needs to be checked and the nearest hospital should be contacted for help. Before the ambulance arrives, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) should be administered on the chest. He informed that while doing CPR, chest compression should be hard and fast on the centre of the chest of the patient.
The Principal, Mr Bijo Kurian stressed, “At Witty International School we always emphasise on health care along with education. It is mandatory for us to be self-proficient in looking after oneself and others in times of medical urgency.”
