Synergy – 16th Annual at Witty International School Pawan Baug (2017-18).

Synergy – 16th Annual Sports Meet
“Winner is a person who participates, accepts challenges, crosses the hurdles and comes out in flying colours.”

Games are creative and mindful expression of the human spirit which comes out through the creation of activity that has an entertaining, flexible, instructive and competing element. This year Witty International School, Pawan Baug, Secondary Section from Grade VI to IGCSE - I witnessed Synergy – 16th Annual Sports Meet on Saturday, March 3, which was an extravagant show of talent, grit and enthusiasm by the ever zealous students.

The chief guest for the day was Mr Shubham Vanmali, Limca book of Records holder as the fastest Asian swimmer to cross the shark infested Strait of Gibraltar. The arrival of the chief guest commenced the torch bearing ceremony which galvanised the sporting arena with vivacity as the sports enthusiasts were getting ready for the races. Every event needs a beginning and to rejuvenate every sports fanatic into the sporting field, a beautiful welcome dance was performed by the lovely dancers who left no stone unturned to showcase their creative side too.

The real test of endurance, vigour, strength, vitality and agility among the students was witnessed in the 100m, 200m and 400 m races of the boys and girls. The finale of the races was 100x4 relay. This race focussed on the teamwork and coordination and the team which handled pressure well was the ultimate survivor of the game.

The athletic events paved way for the breath-taking and stamina challenging – the football and basketball matches. The final two teams respectively were finalised after laborious quarter-finals and semi-final tournaments.  It was an excitingly nail biting match where the best teams emerged victorious.

The most intriguing aspect, embellishing the event, was the splendid field displays, involving mass student participation, which splattered on the field, a riot of hues and vibrant colours. To witness the agility, the synchronization and the prowess of the sportsmen a PEP Rally was displayed. Moving ahead we had the excited and enthusiastic and powerful dumbbell followers ready to mesmerize all with their finesse and power showcasing their inner strength and stamina in the Dumbbell Drill.  The spectators were then presented a beautiful display of nimbleness, harmonization and dexterity through the Aerobics performance. The finale presentation, Human Pyramid, showcased a powerhouse of stamina, inner strength and flexibility. The entire audience cheered and motivated the gymnasts for their dare-devil act.
The Principal, Mr Bijo Kurian, proudly expressed, “Sports prepares a child to become a liberal individual who understands the nature of teamwork and apply the sporting spirit in all aspects of life. Sporting activities play a very important role in the holistic development of students and inculcating values like optimism, belief in oneself and the ability to face all the challenges. We, at Witty International School, aim at providing the best of the sports facilities for our students so that they are shown another perspective to nurture their curiosity and channelize their energy in a positive manner.”
