Where each bud
blooms in its true colors
Where each day
is celebration of unity, harmony and synthesis.
Let’s salute
the nation on this auspicious day.
It was a red letter day in the history
of India when the country got freedom on August 15, 1947.The students at Witty
Kids, Chikkowadi took pride in glorifying the 72nd Independence Day
and celebrated it with entire solemnity and grandeur. The event started with a
patriotic zeal. To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, the Guests of
Honour, Assistant inspector of Police Mr Santosh Arjun Shelke and Sub Inspector
Mr Prashant Suravase unfurled the tricolor flag and all in unison sang the
National Anthem and expressed the joy of freedom.
After the flag hoisting ceremony, the
cultural program commenced with a mesmerizing welcome dance. The Head Mistress
in her address motivated the students to take this day as an opportunity to
reflect on the precious things they can give to the nation. The Guests of
Honour appreciated the efforts put in by the students and motivated them to be
true citizens and work towards making our country corruption free.
There was a symphony of sound, light
and action and the students were highly inclined and enthusiastic about their
performances. The song ‘Aae Vatan’ sung by the school choir filled everyone
with pure patriotism. Freedom fighters such as Rani Laxmi Bai, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev,
Tilak, Lala Lajpat Rai, Mangal Pandey, Azaad and Subhash Chandra Bose seemed to
have come alive as students of grade I and II walked down the ramp. This was
indeed a small tribute to the innumerous valiant freedom fighters who
sacrificed their lives for our Independence.
The English, Hindi and Marathi speech glorifying
the freedom fighters and our country ignited a feeling of love and loyalty for
the nation. ‘A small step towards clean India’ a Nukkad Naatak reinforced the
importance of keeping our surroundings clean and green.
A patriotic dance showing love and brotherhood
left the audience spellbound.
The students dispersed with the image
of the fluttering tricolor in their minds and pledged themselves to uphold the
honour, integrity, diversity and uniqueness of India. Indeed, it was a day of
joy, a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place.
