bring your own weather to the picnic."
It
has been quite rightly said that the heart of education lies in education of
the heart. And ... a child's heart not only seeks knowledge but also yearns for
fun and frolic. A school picnic is undoubtedly one of the many high points of
school life. Wittians experienced
their share of fun, as they visited Yazoo Amusement Park at Virar. Surrounded
by greenery and the beauty of nature the park was a treat to the eyes and soul.
Excitement and enthusiasm was witnessed right
from the time students reached school in the morning. All
through the drive to the park students sang songs, played antakshri and shared
jokes. On reaching the park we were welcomed by the staff of the Resort. Students’
joy knew no bounds when they reached the venue and were all geared up to enjoy
the rides. There were various rides such as the Merry Go Round, Vertical Swing
Chairs, Bumping Cars, Dragon and Yazoo Express, Trampoline, Disco Coaster and
Mini Aeroplanes which they thoroughly enjoyed. After lunch they saw Medicinal
Plants, Drip Irrigation System, Vegetable Plantation Water Filtration Plant, Solar
Panels, Aqua Ponic. At the Aquarium they were left wide-eyed at the vast
collection of fish. The children were grinning from ear to ear watching the
tiny fish gracefully swimming in the glass cases. The trip was not only fun,
frolic and adventure but also informative.
All
the students expressed a desire to revisit the place again. Indeed it was a
great day for all the students and teachers, as it strengthened the bond
between students and teachers. The laughter and joy that was witnessed amongst
the children was something beyond words. Children reached the school with long
lasting memories of the trip.
