India celebrates its
National Sports Day on the birth anniversary of the legendary hockey player of
India, Major Dhyan Chand on 29th August every year. Under his
leadership, Indian hockey team was a force to reckon with. He led India to win
3 Olympic gold medals in 1928, 1932 and 1936.
While India
celebrates its National Sports Day on 29th August, Witty International School,
Atun Road,Bhilwara also celebrated the day in the memory of major Dhyan Chand
on Thursday, August 29,2019. Students were informed about the importance of
sports in life and the relevance of National Sports Day.
On this occasion,
all the students from Grade I to VIII participated in various sports activities
with great enthusiasm and zeal.The students learnt a lot about true
sportsmanship and the value of playing games. Students were seen playing with
true team spirit and the celebration of National Sports Day echoed in the
corridors and fields of the school. It was a great day for all the students.
