The Quit India Movement at WIS, Udaipur

“Bombs and pistols do not make a revolution. The sword of revolution is sharpened on the whetting-stone of ideas.” – Bhagat Singh

The Quit India Movement, which is considered as one of the important milestones in the history of freedom struggle of our country, was observed today at Witty International School, Udaipur with patriotic fervor.
On this date in 1942, Mahatma Gandhi gave a clarion call to end the British rule and launched the Quit India Movement at the session of the All-India Congress Committee in Mumbai. To relive the memories students of Grade VII B presented a skit on the sequence of the events that unfolded on this day, and the roles individuals played in it. The programme was followed by a heart touching Ballet along with an inspirational poem on Mahatma Gandhi. The assembly concluded with a rally wherein the students cheered the audience with the slogans ‘Do or Die’, ‘Vande Matram’ and ‘Inqlaab Zindabad’.
