Republic Day, the day when the constitution came into effect and India became an independent republic holds a very special meaning to every Indian and carries a high place in the heart of each citizen of India. Witty Kids, Chikoowadi celebrated the 71st Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on 25th January, 2020.
Students celebrated this day by performing various cultural activities like singing, speeches, dance performances, a skit, nukkad naatak and kavi sammelan reflecting the fundamental rights and duties as citizens of India.
Principal, Jennifer Periera addressed to students as to our nation being called the golden bird because it is rich in its resources right from the ancient times.
Guest of Honour Lieutenant Commander Avinash Baskaran was overwhelmed by the performances and appreciated the efforts put in by the students and the teachers. He shared his personal experiences and motivated the teachers to find hidden talents in students and encourage leadership qualities in them. He inspired the students to inculcate the habit of running and reading as he said that these two activities keep the mind and body healthy and active.
This exhibition of the diversity and richness of Indian culture spread a festive air to the occasion. The program truly was commendable and worth cherishing
