Dramatization of Florist shop
Flowers flowers everywhere,
In the garden, in my hair
In the vase and at the store
On the table, on the door,
What a lovely time of the year,
Flowers blooming bringing cheer.
Dramatic play helps to develop children’s creativity and
imaginations. It is the most significant model and basic activity for
learning. Keeping this in mind, Sr.KG section of Witty World
Bangur Nagar dramatized visiting a florist shop on Wednesday, 26th February,
2020 based on the theme flowers, wherein the teacher had created a florist shop
setup in the school tuff area. Children explored beautiful textures,
colours and different sizes of flowers like lilies, carnations, sunflowers,
jasmines at the pretend play shop. They were excited to find the flower
baskets, flower vase, and other flower decorations displayed elegantly in the
shop. The teacher showed the children how to arrange the flowers and decorate
the bouquets. She also shared how to retain the freshness of the flowers
and pretend buying their favourite flower with the fake money provided by the
teacher. After the Dramatization, children were encouraged to draw an
expressive drawing of the flowers they liked most at the mock florist shop in
their scrapbook. It was indeed an interactive dramatization rightly said to
be a curriculum based fun learning activity.
