Onam Celebration by Primary Section, IGCSE at WIS PB (2020-21)

 Onam Celebration

Onam, a harvest festival is one of the most significant festivals of Kerala. It also marks the homecoming of the Great King Mahabali. Sumptuous feasts, folk songs, elegant dances, boat races and making Pookalam are a part of this dynamic festival.

In order to give an insight into various cultures and traditions of different states, Witty International School, PB, Primary Section celebrated the festival of Onam with great enthusiasm and fun on Monday, 31st August 2020. The celebration included activity sessions wherein the students of Grade 3 were invited to indulge in Boat Making activity. Wittians displayed their creative streak by making colourful boats. Students of Grade 4 enthusiastically participated in Mask Making activity. Children presented their exclusively crafted wall hanging Kathakali Masks. Wittians of Grade 5 had a delightful experience in Toran Making activity. Students created their unique Torans with bright colours and flowers.

Students seized this opportunity to showcase their talent and creativity virtually and we all together celebrated this festival with excitement.
