POETRY RECITATION COMPETION FOR JUNIOR KG CLASS
Reciting poems and rhymes are very important for the development
of children as it improves vocabulary skills of children and helps in their
cognitive development. Children who memorize poetry learn a wide range of
descriptive words that they might not encounter frequently in reading. Children
also love songs and rhymes with actions. This encourages them to be
involved in group activities. They not only learn the song but the
actions too, which in turn also helps in the gross motor and fine motor
development.
In line of the same, poetry recitation competition was held for
the children of Junior Kg on Friday, 23rd of December, 2011.
Children enthusiastically participated in the competition and recited poems of
their interest. To encourage the children, participation certificates were
distributed to all.
