Independence Day
This is the day
when our nation sings,
This is the day
when the liberty bell rings,
This is the day
when we all remember,
And we celebrate
our “Independence Day”
“At the stroke of the midnight hour,
when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom.”
These were the words of Pandit
Jawaharlal Nehru on the eve of India’s Independence day,15th August
1947.
Witty World celebrated the 68th Independence
day of our nation with great fervour. All classes were decorated in our
national flag’s colours to create an atmosphere of festivity. Children came
dressed in tri-color clothes, colours which complimented the zeal that they
showed while participating in the various Independence day activities.
Patriotic songs were sung with great
ardour.They had fun creating an innovative fruit flag with fruits like papaya,
banana and kiwi.
Children went home proudly sporting
tri-colour tattoos on their hands, their little hearts filled with pride for
their great nation.
