Field Trip To A Bank ( Grade VI to VIII), WIS Bhilwara (24.07.15)

“Learning is fun when I get to explore and ask questions. I want to do more.”

Field trips help students interact with what they are learning. The experience goes beyond reading about a concept; students are able to see it, manipulate it or participate in it physically. Students are able to see elements with their eyes rather than reading about it. Same was experienced by WIS Bhilwara students of Grade VI to VIII in a  trip to a bank where they practiced being customers. They learned to fill withdrawal and deposit slips.
This trip to HDFC Bank is an attempt to show kids how Math skills apply to everyday life and work when they grow up. When they arrived at HDFC Bank, it was decked out with Welcome signs, the first stop for the students was the New Accounts office manned by Mr. Surender Maheshwari (Branch Manager). He showed them how he performs the everyday tasks of his job like opening bank accounts for customers, making different entries etc. He explained in detail the complete process of opening an account and doing different transactions in bank. Students observed many basic operations and basic products of a bank. The trip was very informative for young minds.

We thank the manager of HDFC bank Mr Surendra Maheshwari and the supportive staff members.
