is important because it aids in reading. It helps cement the connection that is
shared between sounds and letters.”
The most awaited Competition -
‘ESPELLAR’ was held on 19th and 20th September, 2016. Students
of Grade I – V participated with great enthusiasm and they duelled through the
toughest words. This competition was a
wonderful learning source not only for the participants but also for the
spectators. It aimed at enriching the vocabulary bank of the students, help
them to learn to spell quickly and accurately, provide an opportunity for
students to meet and compete with their peers in an atmosphere of
fun and friendship.
Top three scorers of the written round
from each division represented their own class for each grade. Various rounds
such as ‘Identify & Spell, Missing Letters, Rapid Fire and Puzzle’ generated
a great deal of excitement. Students were made aware of the rules at the
beginning of the each round and they were rewarded points for their accurate
answer.
The special audience round generated a
lot of interest and received an overwhelming response.
