Baisakhi Celebration, WIS, R.C. Vyas Bhilwara (13.04.2017)









Today students of Witty International School Bhilwara presented a special assembly On the day of new beginning that is Baisakhi. Baisakhi also known as Vaisakhi, Vaishakhi, or Vasakhi is a historical and religious festival in Sikhism. It is usually celebrated on April 13 or 14 every year. Vaisakhi marks the Sikh new year and commemorates the formation of Khalsa panth of warriors under Guru Gobind Singh in 1699. It is additionally a spring harvest festival for the Sikhs.

Vaisakhi is an ancient festival of Hindus, marking the Solar New Year and also celebrating the spring harvest. It marks the sacredness of rivers in Hindu culture. It is celebrated all over the country with full zeal. So did the Wittians do, first they gave a brief introduction about the day. After that they presented a  Folk dance of Punjab that is Bhangra and gidda. After which our guiding head, our respected mam principal shared her motivating thoughts about the day.
