A Field Trip to Hospital for Second Graders (WIS, Udaipur)

To experience the importance of health and hygiene, second
Graders from Witty International School, Udaipur visited JK Fortis hospital for a guidance into the Universe of Health and Hygiene.

One of the most effective ways to prevent the spread of diseases
is through proper hand washing. Young children in particular need
to be reminded to wash their hands, which is very important after
sneezing, nose-blowing, using the bathroom and before and after
eating. Pediatrician Dr. Priyanka Minocha from JK Fortis explained the little students how to stay healthy by providing step-by-step guide for proper hand washing followed by an informative video.

They were also ushered into the world of Oral Hygiene, wherein
Dentist Dr.Pooja Tiwari had an interaction with the kids about dental
awareness, educating students about common dental ailments,
especially stressing on tooth decay and gum diseases and
measures to prevent them. The students were guided about
the eating patterns and food choices which cause tooth decay.

The doctor also highlighted about the possible formation of
harmful acids which develop when bacteria (plaque) get in contact
with sugar in the mouth which ultimately results in tooth decay.
The hospital also organized a medical health check-up for all the
students and necessary medical advice and precautionary
measures were given to the students.
