In the time
and age of auto-correct, predictive text and spell check, ESPELLAR -2018
competition for Primary students came as a whiff of fresh breeze. A spelling competition is a
great way to generate interest in spellings and to motivate students to succeed!
The
competition gave students a platform to learn spellings in different ways. Top scorers of the written round were the finalists.
Students enthusiastically participated in various rounds such Spell it Right,
Unscramble Words, Fill in the Letters and Word Analysis. They were made aware of the rules at the beginning of
the each round and they were rewarded points for their accurate answer. The responses of the participants left
the audience ‘spellbound’. It was interesting to see students duel through the
toughest words. The competition was a wonderful learning source not only for
the participants but also for their peers and even helped in enriching the
vocabulary bank of the students.
Certificates shall be awarded to the winners in the assembly.
Teachers were immensely impressed with the enthusiasm and effort that the
children displayed by learning their lists of words.
