'Traffic Rules Orientation Programme' held at WIS, Atun Road, Bhilwara (2.05.19 to 4.05.19)

“Road safety is a state of mind whereas accident is an absence of mind.” – the choice is yours!
It is better to start learning good safety habits, right from an early age.
Teaching children road safety is a crucial part of raising the young ones as it directly concerns their physical safety and well-being. Rather than isolated lectures and demonstrations, road safety is something that needs to be taught continuously and even subtly at times.
To create awareness about Road safety, a three days ‘Traffic Rules Orientation Programme’ was held at WIS, Atun Road, Bhilwara from May 2, 2019 to May 4, 2019. Students of Grade I to IX participated in this orientation programme. Mr Jatin Kataria, Assistant Executive from Honda was the key trainer for three days. He and his team members gave practical as well as theoretical training to students, teachers as well as to the drivers of the school. Road Safety Educators told the students about the essential traffic signals, walking on zebra crossing, driving in lane, following traffic lights, parking the cars, etc. Students were excited to practice driving the demo vehicles on the traffic path created by the Honda Team Members while following the traffic rules. Taking lead in this direction, everyone realized the importance of road safety as their first priority. The road safety practical demonstration came as an eye opener with relevant road safety games and quiz pertaining to traffic rules. Pondering over this pertinent issue of road safety, and security of thousand lives, this initiative has driven the students to think wisely before they act on roads. The School acted as a rostrum for providing this opportunity to the students to grow intellectually and become morally upright citizen in the realm of road safety. This initiative gave an insight to the students to reflect upon their actions and ensure road safety for all.
It is rightly said, “Speed thrills, but kills” and the trauma of the accident leaves an indelible print in the minds of people. We at WIS believe in “Safety First” is “Safety Always.” So, students were encouraged to become responsible citizens by shaping their behaviour and attitude towards road safety.
During the closing ceremony students were once again briefed about general rules to be followed on the roads and in their own residential areas. At the end Principal, Mrs Abha Mittal conveyed the heartfelt thanks to the event manager and the trainer for conducting such a beneficial session at Witty Campus.
Thanks to Mr Jatin Kataria , Mr Saurabh Sharma and his team members for their kind support and guidance.
