Independence Day celebration at Witty International School , Borivali (2019-20)



“Freedom is never dear at any price. It is the breath of life.”
On August 15, 1947, India got her freedom and finally broke from the shackles of slavery. Witty Kids, Chikoowadi celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on 15th August, 2019 to mark the 73rd year of freedom from the British rule. 

The whole school was decorated with shades of the Indian Flag. To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, the Chief Guest unfurled the tricolour flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem. 

The programme began with the welcome dance where Wittians witnessed a cultural bonanza showcasing India
The speech by Master Nirvaan Mehta of Grade II glorifying the freedom fighters and our country ignited a feeling of love and loyalty for the nation. 

A skit depicting the qualities of leadership, fearlessness and bravery of freedom fighters from their childhood days encouraged students to deal with social issues such corruption and to live in a corruption free country. 

Environmental issues like saving water and trees along with keeping our surroundings clean was presented through a mime act by the students of grade IV- VI. It was followed 
a Kavi Sammelan where students left the audience speechless with their patriotic poems. 

The finale dance was a proud moment to watch the students dance like a dream and spread the essence of tri colour wrapped in emotions and pride for our motherland.

The Chief Guest of the function Sub Lieutenant Ishita Sharma virtually left no stone unturned to infuse in the students a feeling of undying love for their country. 

Principal, Jennifer Periera addressed the gathering, appealing to their nationalistic spirit and urged them to take pride in being an Indian and fulfilling one’s duty with responsibility. She also emphasised the role of youth today as the true wealth of a country. 

The program truly was a commendable tribute to our Indian soldiers by the students of Witty International School.
