Section believes in celebrating all the festivals with heightened spirits and
great joy! This year too, we celebrated Onam and Ganesh Chaturthion 11th
September, 2019.Such celebration brings students closer to traditional and
cultural belief. A close bond is built between the students as they understand
each other’s different customs.
On the auspicious occasion of Onam,Wittians
of Grade I-V started their day by making ‘Pookalam’- an intricate and
symmetrical arrangement of flowersat the doorsteps of each classroomthat made
the entire corridor look like a carpet of colourful flowers.Arranging
a Pookalam everyday on floor is a ritual during the ten-day-long Onam
festival.Later in a cultural program,students of Grade III and IV enactedsmall skits
demonstrating the mythological stories behind celebrating Onam and Ganesh
Chaturthi. The traditional dance performances were indeed a splendour. It was
just amazing to see the pleasure and enthusiasm the kids
displayed while performing various acts!
Amidst cheers of happiness
and excitement, children learnt the importance of these very special days and
imbibed in them pride, cultural oneness and a sense of belonging that we are one
big family.
