Onam Celebrated by Grade I to Grade VI at Witty International School Chikoowadi.

Onam a harvest festival is one of the most significant festivals of Kerala. It also marks the homecoming of the Great King Mahabali. Sumptuous feasts, folk songs, elegant dances, energetic games, elephants, boat race and flowers all are a part of this dynamic festival.

In order to give an insight into various cultures and traditions of different states, the school celebrated the festival of Onam with great enthusiasm and fun. Wittians of grade IV – VI together with the teachers decorated “Pookalam” (Rangoli) using fresh flower petals and leaves. A lit diya  placed on the rangoli brought in the festive look of Onam and took everyone into a world of festivity and fun. A ‘Show and Tell’ activity was organised where Wittians of Grade I - III brought pictures and objects related to the festival and spoke about their importance in the Onam celebrations.

Students went back with the message of oneness and brotherhood that the festival signifies.
