Field Trip to Mani Bhavan conducted for Grade I at Witty Kids, Chikoowadi

“Learning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere.”

The power of real-world experience is crystal clear. Students are visual learners and school field trip is a one such effective education activity for the students that help facilitate fast and efficient learning.
On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, students of grade I were taken on a field trip to Mani Bhavan Gandhi Sangrahalaya - a museum and historical building which was the focal point of Gandhi's political activities in Mumbai between 1917 and 1934.

The transportation to and from the museum was a pleasant open-social time for them. The drive through the Bandra - Worli Sea Link was an added attraction to the trip.
On reaching Mani Bhavan students made their way to the staircase, dotted with Gandhi’s pictures depicting his life led them to the first floor which has a big photo gallery where photographs of his childhood till his assassination were displayed along with press clippings. The students were thrilled to see Gandhiji’s shoes, the bowl and the tumbler he used in jail.
Students got a view of Gandhiji’s room on the second floor which has been preserved as far as possible in its original setting. Through a glass partition they could see two of his spinning wheels, a book, bed and his other personal belongings.
It was truly an amazing experience for our little wittians.
