“Eliminate the concept of waste – not reduce, minimize or
avoid waste….. but eliminate the very concept, by design.”
Since 1850, burning of
fossil fuel, coal,oil and natural gas increased 100 times to produce energy as
the world has industrialized to serve the world’s more than 6 billion and
growing population.
There is urgent need to
stop subsidizing the fossil fuel industry, dramatically reduce wasted energy and
significantly shift our power supplies from oil, coal and natural gas to wind,
solar, geothermal and other renewable energy sources. To make the students
aware of the harmful effects of pollution and update the young generation about
the fuels Witty International, Atun Road, Bhilwara tabulated a special assembly
on Alternative Fossil Fuels on 26 November. The seminar was very ingeniously speechified by engineer Mr Dewanshu Setiya
specialized in fuel cells, Volkswagen Germany.
Mr Dewanshu apprised the
Wittians about the energy sources that are as effective as fossil fuels but
that come with less harmful pollutants than fossil fuels do. Students learnt about the functioning of
Hydrogen powered Vehicles (Fuel Cells).
The seminar ended with an interactive round of
question and answers. Students dispersed to their classes with a determination
to make an effort to pull away from harmful fossil fuels and to switch over to
cleaner energy sources such as solar power, wind power, and geothermal power.
