On Wednesday, 14^th August 2013, Children of Sr. KG section came dressed in tri- colour clothes, and enthusiastically participated in the songs, “Hum Honge Kamyab and many other patriotic songs as a mark of respect for their Independence Day celebration. Teachers spoke about the freedom fighters who struggled throughout their life to free India, Children were shown slides on National symbols and in an interactive manner teachers discussed about the importance of our tri- colour flag.

Children did various activities such as palm printing and finger printing to make a flag. During tiffin time children made tri-colour sandwich along with the help of teachers, which they had later. The celebration of this day raised the spirit of unity and bravery in the minds of the little Wittians.

 

 

Independence Day Celebration WIS,Malad

                             

                                                  Independence Day

          On 15^th August,1947, India got its Independence. This day has a special significance for all Indians. It reminds us of the  lives that were specified to help us get freedom from the British. The Independence Day is celebrated all over the nation.

        We celebrated Independence Day on 14^th August, 2013 (Wednesday) with immense pride and solemnity. The class  was decorated with the tri– colour flag. Teachers and children were dressed up in tri – colour clothes.

       Children were explained about the importance of the Flag and its tri- colour. The Orange (Saffron) colour represents- Courage and Sacrifice while the White colour represents Truth and Peace, Green colour stands for Faith and the Ashok Chakra represents the Laws of Dharma. Children were explained about National Leaders, Flower, Animal and Bird.

Children saluted the National Flag and sang the National Anthem. The children danced on the tunes of patriotic songs

        

 

Rakshabandhan Celebration WIS,Malad

                                      Rakshabandhan

Rakshabandhan is celebrated to strengthen the bond between the brother and sister.

As far as the traditions and rituals are concerned, sisters prepare the "pooja thali" with diyas, chawal and rakhis. They worship the goddesses, tie rakhis on the wrist of their brother(s), and wish for their well being. On the other hand, the brothers acknowledge their love with a promise that they will remain by their sisters' side and protect them throughout their life. Brothers also give token gifts to their sisters.

Students of playgroup and nursery celebrated, Rakshabandhan on 19/08/2013, where teachers, maushis and children were asked to wear traditional outfits to school. Activity like Rakhi making was encouraged in the class by the teachers. Teachers mentioned the unique significance of the rakhi festival to the children. The class was decorated with different kinds of rakhi mobile hangings.

In the end the girls tied rakhi's to boys and celebrated the festival of Rakshabandhan.

 

Nursery Orange Day [2013-14] WIS,Malad

Children categorise things based on colour and shape. Colour helps in development of cognitive skills.

Children who colour with crayons or markers early on, have an easier time of understanding colours, the makeup of colours, and the mixing of colours.

 

On 7^th August 2013, Wednesday, WIS planned to introduce 'Orange' colour in Nursery section.Children were asked to wear 'Orange' colour clothes to school. The classroom was also decorated with the ‘Orange’ colour cut outs.Various activities were planned so that children have a lasting memory of ‘Orange’ colour.Teacher involved the children to remove ‘Red’ colour objects and then ‘yellow’ colour objects of the same kind from the magic box.The items were (handkerchief, sketch pen, blocks, crayons etc.) She then told the children that red colour + yellow colour gives ‘Orange’ colour.
Teacher also planned to give practical example to the children in a way of magic! Teacher asked half the children to dip their pointer finger in Red colour and the other half in yellow colour. Then she asked the children with the red colour to rub their finger with children with yellow colour finger and see the change. The colour changed to 'Orange'! By doing so, teacher created an atmosphere of magic in the class. This activity made children happy and they had fun.

[Nursery] Gardening Activity at WIS, Udaipur

The children of Nursery experienced a new activity in the Garden. They got small pots from home and enjoyed sowing the seeds in their pots and watering them. The teachers told them that after some time a new plant will appear. Children are waiting eagerly for new sapling to come out!

Sadbhavna Diwas Celebration (Primary) 21.08.2013, WIS Bhilwara

Sadbhavana Diwas is celebrated every year on August 20 as birth anniversary of late Prime Minister, Shri Rajiv Gandhi. The word Sadbhavana means 'good feelings'. This day is celebrated throughout India to promote communal harmony, national integrity, peace and affection among people of India beyond the feeling of caste, colour and creed.
On this occasion, students of grade V, presented a small skit based on communal harmony.

Celebrate Rakshabandhan, WIS Bhilwara (19.08.2013)

The chaste bond of love between a brother and a sister is one of the deepest and noblest of human emotions. This ritual not only strengthens the bond of love between brothers and sisters but also confines the family. This thread which pulsates with sisterly love and sublime sentiments is rightly called Rakhi. It means the bond of love and protection and Rakshabandhan signifies that the strong must protect the weak from all that's evil.

Keeping all these thoughts in mind, students of Witty International School celebrated this auspicious occasion. A skit based on loving relationship of brother and sister filled the atmosphere with festive feeling. Everyone tip tapped and clapped on the rhythm of the wonderful dance performance on “Phulon ka taaron ka sabka kehna hai.”After that sister’s tied rakhis on their brother’s wrist and brothers promised to take care of their sisters forever.
