Cyber Crime Awareness Seminar by the Head of Cyber Cell, Mumbai Police [2014-2015]




At Witty International School we are proud to bring forth our most distinguished segment – “WIS Lecture Series”, to bridge the gap between the industry, academia and students by giving an opportunity to all to interact with the most eminent personalities of varied fields. In our constant endeavor to inspire, inform and update students with modern advancements, WIS has been acting as a platform for both the brilliant and the blooming to connect and have an interaction of a lifetime.

The first in our Lecture Series was the Cyber Crime Awareness Seminar conducted on 26th July, 2014 in Witty International School, Pawan Baug. Our guest of honor for the day was, Shree Nandkishore More , Assistant Commissioner of Police, Crime Branch and  the head of Cyber Cell Division , Mumbai. 

The Cyber Crime Investigation Cell of Mumbai Police was inaugurated on 18th December 2000. It deals with the offence related to the computer, computer network, computer resource, computer systems, computer devices and Internet. 

Students learnt about various cyber crimes like hacking, cyber stalking, denial of service attack, virus dissemination, software piracy, phishing etc. They also learnt about cyber laws and how they can protect themselves from scams.  The students enriched a lot from his talk on cyber crime prevention. The take home message for students was that  “Internet is safe to use, but unsafe to 
misuse.”
