In today’s fast-paced, technology-driven society, it is more important
than ever to make time to exercise. It is a productive outlet that stimulates feel-good
transmitters that help boost overall well-being.
Studies show that individuals who engage in a fitness routine live
happier and healthier lives. Most
people are aware that exercise can produce feel good – “Happy Hormones”
chemicals in the brain called endorphins.
Wittians believe that ‘Health is Wealth’. A healthy and active mind is
essential to reach day to day goals in a balanced manner. A healthy eating
habit is essential for child's good health, growth and
development. Children need a balanced diet with food from all 3 food
groups — vegetables and fruit, whole grain products, and protein foods.
With this
belief, the school had arranged for an online fitness webinar on 8th
of August. An apt guest, Ms. Sucharitha Shetty Karelia was invited. Ms. Karelia
is a Gold and Silver Medalist in the Australian Masters Athletic Championships
and the 23rd Thailand Masters Open Athletic Championship in 2015 and 2018
respectively. A feather in the cap is that she has been awarded with more than
35 Gold Medals at the India Masters Athletic Championship from 2011 to
2020. Apart from holding a Master’s Degree in Physical Education, she provides
Professional training to Athletes besides focusing on Functional Fitness
Training.
Ms. Karelia
spoke to kids about the importance and benefits of a fit and healthy life and
how one can bring positivity in their life through regular exercise. She recommended
exercises for kids to enhance the quality of their life. She demonstrated few
exercises and students followed her.
The guest
explained that routine exercise helps strengthen our muscles, improves oxygen
supply and blood flow throughout the body. Heart and lungs work efficiently.
Our bones get strong and joints have the pain free movement.
It was an
interactive and an interesting session as students were enlightened with more
Living Better Fitness tips.
